What It Is and How It Can Benefit You

Nutrigenetics is an innovative field that combines nutritional science with genetics to determine how genetic variations influence your body’s response to different dietary habits and nutrients.

NutriGenetix is the first DNA test to combine Genes, Lifestyle, and Phenotype to achieve maximum nutritional personalisation.

Genes

Genetic analysis identifies different versions of our DNA, namely the specific genetic polymorphisms that differentiate our response to diet. Our genes do not change; therefore, genetic analysis is performed by taking a saliva sample once in our lifetime.

Lifestyle

Our lifestyle is the sum of our daily habits, including diet, physical activity, smoking, as well as the intake of medications and dietary supplements. This information is collected through a brief online questionnaire.

Phenotype

Our phenotype is the sum of our characteristics, including medical history and anthropometric data (height, weight). This information is collected through a brief online questionnaire. This information is collected through a brief online questionnaire.

Personalised Nutrition, delivered through specifically designed advice, is based on your personal genotype, phenotype, and lifestyle information, aiming to promote dietary behaviour change for optimal health.

Nutrigenetics Test Procedure

  1. DNA Sample Collection:
    • Saliva Sample: DNA collection is performed via a saliva sample. You will be provided with a special kit containing a saliva collection container.
  2. DNA Analysis:
    • Genetic Analysis: Your sample is analysed in the laboratory to identify specific genetic markers related to nutrition and metabolism.
    • Correlation with Nutritional Needs: Genetic markers are examined in relation to your diet, such as vitamin absorption, sensitivity to specific nutrients, and predisposition to obesity or other metabolic conditions.
  3. Receiving Results:
    • Report of Results: You receive a detailed report with test results, including information on how your genetic variations affect your nutritional needs.
    • Personalised Recommendations: Based on the results of the genetic analysis, you receive personalised nutritional recommendations and guidelines to improve your health through nutrition.
